Momentum Investors Invited to Exclusive Tour of Austin Airport, Expansion Briefing

The Round Rock Chamber was proud to host its Pacesetter-level Momentum investors on an exclusive tour offered by Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) leadership. The visit comes during a time of record-breaking growth and expansion for one of the region’s most important gateways, providing valuable insights for business leaders directly impacted by these projects.

The select group of attendees were treated to a brief history of AUS and an overview of the short-term and long-term plans for the multi-billion dollar investment to modernize and expand the airport compus. As a result of rapid population growth in the greater Austin area since 2020, AUS is now the fourth-fastest growing major airport hub in the United States.

Chamber guests also received a behind-the-scenes tour across the campus, seeing the envisioned Concourse B — adding 32 additional gates via underground tunnel — and a revolutionizing of baggage handling with miles of conveyer belts, International Arrivals improvements, and vast upgrades to runways and taxiways.

The Momentum visit comes as a follow-up to AUS CEO Ghizlane Badawi speaking at a Momentum quarterly luncheon in 2025, where she provided valuable data on the economic impact of the airport’s expansion.
