Round Rock Chamber Joins Regional Delegation on Business Recruitment Mission to South Korea

This month, Danielle Morrissey, Senior Director of Economic Development for the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, traveled to South Korea as part of a regional delegation with the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership. From February 9–13, she represented the City of Round Rock in strategic meetings designed to strengthen international business relationships and attract investment to Central Texas.

During the visit, the delegation participated in SEMICON Korea, one of the semiconductor industry’s premier global events, held in Seoul. While attending the conference, Danielle met with semiconductor manufacturers, suppliers, and technology firms to discuss expansion opportunities, site selection considerations, workforce development, and the advantages of locating operations in Round Rock and Williamson County.

Beyond the SEMICON conference, the delegation conducted additional company visits and executive meetings throughout the week with firms spanning multiple industries, including advanced manufacturing, technology, life sciences, and emerging innovation sectors. In total, Danielle participated in more than 20 targeted business meetings during the five-day recruitment mission.

“The level of innovation and collaboration we saw throughout the week was impressive,” Danielle said. “Round Rock is well-positioned to support international companies looking to establish or expand their U.S. presence, and these conversations are an important step in building long-term partnerships that benefit our community.”

The trip provided valuable insight into South Korea’s dynamic innovation ecosystem and reinforced the importance of proactive, relationship-driven recruitment efforts. Through direct engagement with these companies, Danielle helped further position Round Rock as a competitive and welcoming destination for global investment.
