The Governor’s Small Business Resource Portal provides relevant tools and federal, state and local resources to new businesses. The portal provides access to business advice and growth assistance, funding sources and contact to the Governor’s Small Business Assistance Team.

Due to Round Rock’s proximity to Fort Hood, Army Futures Command headquarters and an abundant defense industry ecosystem, Round Rock is a uniquely positioned to support veteran-owned startups. The Round Rock Chamber continually advocates for entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, including those who have served or are serving in our military, making it a top city for service members and their military spouses. PenFed Foundation named Round Rock one of the Top 20 Cities for Veteran Entrepreneurs, making note of the city’s livability, economic growth, support for veterans and ease of starting a business.

The Round Rock Public Library offers workshops, presented by recognized experts and practitioners that cover a variety of issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs including financial issues, marketing, and strategic planning.

The library also offers research tools and local business information for topics like business management, planning, funding, professional training and industry information.

The Chamber is dedicated to developing a thriving ecosystem that supports high-growth entrepreneurs and start-up businesses by offering a variety of entrepreneurship-focused programs and events. Annually, the Chambers hosts 30+ events and 100+ hours of education tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs.

The Round Rock Chamber is proud to present the Round Rock Pitch Competition – a “Shark Tank” style pitch competition focused on supporting Round Rock’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. This pitch competition will connect local entrepreneurs with community leaders and partners.

Up to 8 qualifying finalists will pitch their company to a panel of judges for an opportunity to win a grand prize valued at more than $10,000. This pitch competition will take place on Thursday, May 4, during National Small Business Week.

Dell Technologies, one of Texas’s biggest success stories, was founded in a dorm room and scaled up in Round Rock. The technology giant is now one of the largest private employers in the Austin metro, with its global headquarters in Round Rock.

Other startup successes include Round Rock-based Infinitum Electric Inc., which was founded in 2016 and is now disrupting the electric-motor industry, and Round Rock Honey, which started with four hives in a Round Rock backyard is now available on shelves in more than 1,000 stores across the country.
