Hester Fishing Trip Fundraiser Brings in $30,000

Gail “Big Boy” Hester contributes to Round Rock substantially through philanthropy and through his successful business of over fifty-nine years in Round Rock. Each year, Big Boy hosts a fishing trip fundraiser in Seadrift on the Gulf Coast which benefits the Round Rock Chamber  and the Greater Williamson County YMCA. This year the fundraiser brought in $30,000 to be split between the two community organizations.

Big Boy, the owner of Hester’s Automotive, and lifelong resident of Round Rock has been involved in every aspect of the city’s civic life for decades including helping to bring Dell Diamond and the Round Rock Express to town. Big Boy graduated from Round Rock High School and married his high school sweetheart a year later. They have four children.

In 2009, Hester received the Round Rock Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and each year an award in his name is granted to a top small business in the city.

Thank you for Big Boy and everyone that participated for supporting and contributing to our critically important work!
