Round Rock Chamber and Williamson County Economic Development Host National Site Selectors for Familiarization Tour
In a collaborative effort to showcase the thriving business environment of Central Texas, the Round Rock Chamber and Williamson County Economic Development hosted a Familiarization Tour for four prominent national site selectors from April 18-21. This event aimed to spotlight the unique benefits and opportunities that Round Rock and Williamson County offer to businesses considering relocation or expansion.
During the tour, the site selectors were immersed in the county’s vibrant economy, infrastructure, quality of life and workforce talent. The agenda included visits to key industrial and office sites, meetings with local business leaders and insights into the county’s supportive business environment.
Jordan Robinson, President and CEO of the Round Rock Chamber, emphasized the importance of the event, saying, “By hosting these site selectors, we’re able to give them a firsthand look at what makes Round Rock and Williamson County a prime destination for business. This tour allows us to build relationships and showcase our region’s strategic advantages, from our skilled workforce to our excellent quality of life.” While in Round Rock, the site selectors stayed at The Ruby Hotel, dined at Kalahari, met at the Round Rock Public Library and heard a testimonial from Dell Technologies.
A key focus of the tour was illustrating the seamless collaboration between local government, economic development agencies, private industry and workforce development partners. With Samsung’s ongoing investment in the county, a key topic of discussion was how the county and region are preparing the workforce of tomorrow. Local education and workforce partners, including Texas State University, Texas State Technical College and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, highlighted innovative workforce programs during a panel discussion.
The Familiarization Tour also highlighted region’s vibrant culture. The site selectors were hosted at the Two Step Inn music festival in Georgetown at San Gabriel Park and dined at the world-famous Louie Mueller’s Barbeque in Taylor.
Dave Porter, Executive Director of Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, noted, “These events are crucial in building awareness about our region’s potential. We want these site selectors to leave with a comprehensive understanding of why Williamson County is the right choice for their clients’ next big move.”
The success of the Familiarization Tour underscores the commitment of both the Round Rock Chamber and Williamson County Economic Development to fostering economic growth and attracting new business. By creating these unique opportunities for site selectors to explore the area, they are paving the way for future business investment and community development.
