Ambassador Spotlight: Scott Huckabay
The Round Rock Chamber Ambassador program provides an opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic, and articulate business people to represent the chamber at functions and events across the community. The group plays a critical role in gathering investor feedback and relaying that information to the chamber staff. Ambassadors help support the chamber’s mission by ensuring that new investors are welcomed to the chamber properly and they play an important role in ribbon cutting events.
Scott Huckabay has been a Round Rock Chamber Ambassador since October 2017 and vice-chair since January 2019. His favorite part about being an Ambassador is learning about new businesses that open in our town and making long-lasting relationships with other local professionals.
Scott was born in Roswell, New Mexico but has lived in Round Rock since he was two years old. He is a graduate of Round Rock High School where he excelled in soccer and academics. He was recruited by Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX where he played soccer all four years, was the Junior and Senior class president, a founding father of Sigma Chapter Phi Delta Theta fraternity and graduated with a mathematics degree in 2006. From there he returned to Round Rock and started working at Farmers Insurance as an underwriter.
While at Farmers, he met his lovely wife of five years, Lauren Huckabay. They have two fun-loving sons, Grayson and Grant aged four and one and half. After ten years of working in the corporate world, he ventured out into sales and became an insurance agent with the Brookshire Insurance Agency at the beginning of 2017. He loves to help local folks with all of their insurance needs. In his spare time he still plays soccer (when not injured) and loves to go hunting and fishing and most important of all, spend time with his family. Scott and his wife Lauren plan to follow in their parents footsteps and raise their boys right here in Round Rock.
