Williamson County Business Survey Analysis Released
Over 700 businesses respond with valuable insight for local leaders
In partnership with the largest coalition of business organizations in Williamson County, the Round Rock Chamber today released the results of a survey conducted across Williamson County businesses. In preparation for the anticipated effort to “Open Texas” for business, a consortium of business assistance programs within Williamson County collaborated to gather information about the impact to business in Williamson County to better understand the broad operational condition of businesses.
The survey assessed business concerns and perspectives on their needs as Texas begins to gradually reduce operating restrictions on economic activities following necessary COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The survey was administered to businesses in Williamson County during the month of April with more than 700 businesses responding.
The effort to collect the regional feedback was spearheaded by the business assistance organizations in Williamson County. The Williamson County coalition included:
- Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce
- City of Cedar Park
- City of Georgetown
- City of Round Rock
- Georgetown Chamber of Commerce
- Greater Round Rock Community Foundation
- Hutto Chamber of Commerce
- Leander Economic Development Group
- Round Rock Chamber
- Taylor Economic Development Corporation
- Williamson County
- Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area
“This is an important time for business and for our region. Following the Governor’s announcement of the Open Texas plan to reduce restrictions, the business community must lead our return to work in a measured and safe way,” said Jason Ball, the chamber’s president and CEO. “The information provided in this analysis will be very important to policy makers as we move forward together.”
The summary analysis includes observations and recommendations in four categories including:
- Clarity and Consistency in Communication
- Regional Considerations
- Uncertainty about Customers, Supply Chains, and Employees
- Continued Financial Assistance
The survey’s key findings include an overview of current business perspectives related to:
- Operations
- Safety
- Preparedness
- Workforce
- Financial
