Small Business Opportunity Council (SBOC) Expands Partnerships with DECA Chambers

In a strategic push to broaden its impact and foster economic growth, the Small Business Opportunity Council (SBOC) continues initiatives to deepen collaboration with local DECA (Diversity and Ethnic Chamber Alliance) Chambers. These initiatives aim to support historically underrepresented and emerging small businesses by expanding access to networking, mentorship, and procurement opportunities across Central Texas.

As part of this effort, the Chamber will co-host a Regional Member Mixer on Tuesday, August 6, in partnership with the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC). The event will bring together community and business leaders and entrepreneurs for an evening of connection and resource-sharing, and Karaoke.

“Our goal is to connect with small businesses, share opportunities, and provide resources for growth,” said Richard Lopez , Chair of the SBOC. “Partnering with DECA Chambers and hosting events like the August 6 mixer allows us to build bridges, promote collaboration, and create real opportunity across sectors and communities.”

The upcoming mixer, will be held at The Alcove Cantina in downtown Round Rock. The $10 ticket includes:

  • Taco and first beverage
  • Informal networking
  • A fireside chat with Michelle Ly, Round Rock City Council and Minh Tran, Chair of GAACC
  • Small business success stories
  • Optional Karaoke social to conclude the event
