Round Rock Once Again Ranked Top 10 ‘Best Places to Live in the U.S’

Round Rock continues to earn national recognition as one of the most desirable places to call home, ranking ninth on Livability.com’s Top 100 Best Places to Live list this year. This is the third consecutive year Round Rock has made the annual ranking, which highlights the nation’s most vibrant small to mid-sized cities in the United States.

Now in its 13th year, Livability’s Top 100 list is built on a data-driven approach that evaluates more than 2,000 U.S. cities with populations between 75,000 and 500,000. The rankings analyze nearly 100 data points across key categories including economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health. A new emphasis on affordability in 2026 reflects the realities many Americans face, with only cities under a $500,000 median home value considered for inclusion.

It also took particular note of Round Rock’s thriving economy, mentioning growing sectors such as technology, advanced manufacturing, and life sciences continue, which create new opportunities for professionals at every stage of their careers.

Compared to neighboring markets, Round Rock provides more attainable housing options while still offering close proximity to the economic and cultural amenities of the greater Austin region.
