Round Rock Chamber Welcomes Nicole Thompson as New Director of Membership

The Round Rock Chamber is pleased to announce Nicole Thompson has joined the organization as our Director of Membership. In this role, Nicole will lead the membership, sponsorship, and partnership efforts while supporting our Chamber programs.
Nicole Thompson is from Waco, Texas, and holds a master’s degree in strategic communications from Texas State University, and bachelor’s degrees in both public relations and business from Tarleton State University. While at Tarleton, she had her first experience with a Chamber of Commerce as an intern for the Stephenville Chamber where she assisted with networking events, ribbon cuttings, and the ambassador program.
After college, she worked at the Hilton Waco, where she handled group and event sales, marketing, and event planning for guests. During this time, Nicole started her first business as a wedding planner and day-of-coordinator. She then moved into an agency role with Ansira Engagement Marketing in Addison, Texas, as an account coordinator for a global quick service restaurant. Here, she managed creative direction for print and digital campaigns, and assisted with rolling out a design for existing and new build restaurants.
Nicole also taught in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University for the public relations program for 4 years. While there, she managed an internship program for students in event planning and hosted an annual, week-long internal conference for 1,500+ students. She also planned and coordinated an annual “Study in America” trip, as a budget-friendly alternative to study abroad, which took students on a two-week road trip to state and national parks in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado to write travel stories and film mini-documentaries about the parks. Nicole also assisted with planning and hosting the SJMC Advisory Board meetings and served on the advisory committee for the new Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Most notably, she and her husband built a commercial concrete company in 2019, raising private equity to fund their start-up. Here, she handled all aspects of marketing, compliance, and finance. Nicole helped grow the company’s revenue to a projected $10M before selling in 2023.
Personally, Nicole enjoys just about anything outdoors and can usually be found on the lake or on a trail with her family in her spare time. She plays the violin and guitar, and loves a good karaoke session. She has a 1 year-old son named Hunter, who is the light of her life, and has been married for 5 years to Justin Thompson, a Austin-area native who attended both Lake Travis and Dripping Springs.
