Round Rock Chamber Selects Global Consulting Firms for New Economic Development Strategic Plan

The Round Rock Chamber is pleased to announce the selection of Hickey Global, a distinguished national site selection and economic development consulting firm, to develop our new 5-Year Economic Development Strategic Plan. Following a rigorous competitive bid and selection process, Hickey Global stood out for their expertise and commitment to advancing economic growth strategies.

The scope of this strategic plan is comprehensive, aiming to strengthen Round Rock’s economic foundation and enhance our community’s future prosperity. Key components include:

1. Community SWOT Analysis: Assessing our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to inform strategic initiatives.
2. Target Industries Identification: Identifying sectors ripe for new business recruitment efforts to diversify and expand our economic base.
3. Business Retention and Workforce Development Analysis: Evaluating current efforts and proposing enhancements to retain local businesses and cultivate a skilled workforce.
4. Strategic Land and Development Opportunities: Analyzing potential land acquisitions or development opportunities to foster economic development and infrastructure growth.

Hickey Global will deliver recommendations and an actionable plan that will guide the Chamber’s economic development activities over the next five years. This initiative builds upon the success of our previous strategic plans, with the last comprehensive review conducted in 2017 and a refresh in 2021.

In addition to partnering with Hickey Global, the Chamber has engaged Solution Focused, a team of regional startup ecosystem experts, to develop an Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development Plan. This complementary strategy will provide measurable action items to nurture innovation, support startups, and bolster Round Rock’s entrepreneurial spirit.

These strategic initiatives are vital to Round Rock’s future prosperity and community well-being. By proactively planning and leveraging our strengths, we aim to attract new investments, foster business growth, and create sustainable job opportunities.

Both the Economic Development Strategic Plan and the Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development Plan are scheduled for completion and delivery in December 2024.
