Round Rock Chamber Names Jordan Robinson New Vice President of Economic Development

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Chamber today announced that Jordan Robinson has been selected as its new Vice President of Economic Development. Robinson currently serves as the Senior Director of Regional Economic Development for the Greater Houston Partnership where she has managed a portfolio of potential projects representing more than 11,000 jobs and $8.2 billion in capital investment.

“Round Rock and the Greater Austin region continues to be one of the fastest growing metros in the country, attracting both talent and new business investment across the globe,” said Robinson. “I look forward to joining the Round Rock Chamber, along with its many civic and business leaders, to further market the region and diversify the economic base of this thriving community.”

A Texas-native, Robinson graduated from Baylor University with a degree in journalism/public relations, with a concentration on marketing and strategic planning. She will begin her tenure in Round Rock in late August.

“I am excited about having Jordan as part of the Round Rock team,” said Mayor Craig Morgan. “Her credentials speak for themselves. She will be able to take Round Rock’s economic development program to the next level. I look forward to working with her in this endeavor.”

The Round Rock Chamber is the leading economic development organization in Round Rock tasked with recruiting new employers, jobs, and investment to the community. The Vice President of Economic Development role has responsibility to lead efforts to attract new business enterprises to Round Rock as well as the expansion and growth of existing businesses in Round Rock.

“Jordan is highly qualified and will be a great asset to Round Rock,” said Scott Swindell the chamber’s chairman of the board. “Our community is highly collaborative in our approach to creating our own future. She’s a proven collaborator and will be able to bring parties to the table to find solutions that drive us forward together.”

Prior to her role at the Greater Houston Partnership, Jordan spent two years working for the Office of Governor Abbott as the Strategic Business Development Manager for the state of Texas. Before joining the Governor’s Office, she spent nine years at New York-based Development Counsellors International (DCI), a firm that specializes in economic development and tourism marketing. While at DCI, Robinson created and implemented public relations and marketing programs for cities, states, regions, and countries across the globe to promote economic development, trade, and investment.

“Jordan has a deep background in leading economic development and brings extensive contacts at both the state and national levels to our organization,” said Ryan Therrell, the chamber’s Momentum chair. “She will provide the strategic leadership our economic development program needs.”

The chamber’s executive search committee contracted with Mike Barnes Consulting to conduct a nationwide search.

“Jordan is a seasoned professional in leading economic development, but she is also clearly a person of vision. That’s what impressed me most about her, said Jason Ball, the chamber’s president and CEO. “We could not be more pleased to welcome her to Round Rock.”
