STATE OF THE CHAMBER POWER LUNCH - MEET THE SPEAKERS

Charlie Culpepper has been a dedicated member of the Round Rock community for nearly five decades. Charlie and his wife of 51 years, Kathy, have raised two children, Kristin Stevens and Chris Culpepper, and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren. A longtime resident of Round Rock, Charlie has deep roots in the area, having owned Round Rock Industrial Equipment for 30 years.

Charlie served as a commissioner on the Round Rock Planning and Zoning Commission from 1982 to 1985, and then as a councilmember on the Round Rock City Council from 1985 to 1992. From 1989 to 1992, he also served as Mayor Pro Tem, before stepping into the role of Mayor of Round Rock from 1993 to 1999. In addition to his local leadership, he was a director for the Texas Municipal League from 1997 to 1999.

A committed community volunteer, Charlie has held leadership roles in several organizations, including the Round Rock Sertoma Club and Round Rock Rotary, where he has been both a member and past president. He was also a board member of the Round Rock Chamber from 2002 to 2006 and served as Board Chair from 2004 to 2005. His other volunteer roles include board membership with the March of Dimes Austin Chapter and the Boy Scouts of America Capitol Area Council. He is also a charter member of The University Club.

Lora Weber is a longtime public-sector executive, small business owner, and community leader.

Lora enjoyed a long career as an executive with several Texas state agencies encompassing everything from public utility regulation to business licensing to higher education. She is also a successful small business owner having owned MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery in Round Rock for over 14 years.

Lora has served as chair of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Williamson Central Appraisal District Board of Directors (Vice-Chair); Round Rock’s CHASCO Family YMCA Board of Directors; and the Leadership Round Rock Planning Committee.  A founder of Austin Threshold Choir in 2009, one of her longtime volunteer passions is singing weekly for hospice patients and their families.

Lora and her husband, Jay, love living in Round Rock, but also spend as much time as possible scuba diving all over the world.

Steve and his wife and have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. They have lived in Round Rock since 1999. Steve has been a member of the Round Rock Chamber since 2003  and has served in multiple areas of the Chamber including the Board of Directors as well as the Chairperson in 2018.

Steve has also been involved in the YMCA for many years and worked at the serving center in Round Rock and currently serves on the St. David’s Round Rock Hospital Board.

Steve was a member of Sertoma and Casa in Williamson County and has been active in other community events and organizations within Williamson and Travis Counties. These include school organizations, civic groups, and community fundraising for various organizations including the Round Rock Community Foundation.

Steve retired on December 31, 2024, after 47 years in banking and finance.

John Howard is a Director of Government Affairs for Dell Technologies. He is an attorney, a proud Baylor and UT Law graduate, previously held senior policy positions in the White House, Travis County Commissioner and Texas Governor’s Office, and he serves on several nonprofit boards. He and his wife, Ann Howard, are proud parents of three grown children and three grandchildren.

Jessica Scanlon is the founder and CEO of Hot Dog Marketing, an award-winning agency established in 2012 that has supported hundreds of businesses across Texas and beyond. A proud University of Texas alumna and devoted Longhorn football fan, Jessica has lived in Central Texas for over 25 years. Her accomplishments include being named a 2019 Austin Under 40 honoree, the 2023 Communicator of the Year by Women Communicators of Austin, and a 2024 recipient of the Austin Business Journal Women in Business award.

Jessica lives in Round Rock with her husband, Neil, and their 11-year-old daughter, Madeline.

Selicia Sanchez-Adame is a lifelong Round Rock resident and RRISD alumna, holding an AS in Business Administration from Austin Community College and a BBA in Finance from Texas State University. As the CEO/Founder of Think Group, a leading Austin-based marketing research firm established in 2007, Selicia brings over 20 years of industry expertise. She serves on several boards, including the St. David’s Hospital Board, Central Texas Greater Community Foundation, and the Round Rock Ballet Folklorico. Passionate about arts and culture, she organizes vibrant community events like Dia de los Muertos. Selicia loves spending time with her son Rio, Jarod, and husband Rene.
