Round Rock Chamber at BIO International Convention – The World’s Largest Biotechnology Event
This week, Danielle Morrissey, Vice President of Economic Development for the Round Rock Chamber, traveled to San Diego to attend the BIO International Convention, the world’s largest biotechnology event along with regional partners. Representing the City of Round Rock, Danielle joined thousands of biotechnology executives, researchers, investors, and economic development professionals from around the globe to strengthen relationships and promote Round Rock as a premier destination for life sciences investment.
Throughout the four-day convention, Danielle met with biotechnology companies, contract research organizations, pharmaceutical manufacturers and industry partners evaluating expansion opportunities. Discussions focused on Round Rock’s growing life sciences ecosystem, highly educated workforce, strategic Central Texas location, and business-friendly environment.
As one of the Chamber’s targeted industry sectors, health and life sciences continues to be a priority for Round Rock’s economic development efforts. Participation at BIO provides an opportunity to build relationships with companies at every stage of growth—from emerging startups to established global firms—and position the community for future investment, job creation and innovation.
“BIO brings together the world’s leading biotechnology companies, innovators, and investors in one place,” said Morrissey. “It provides an incredible opportunity to showcase everything Round Rock has to offer while building relationships that can lead to future business investment. As our life sciences ecosystem continues to grow, it’s important that we have a presence at conferences like BIO where many of those expansion conversations begin.”
The Round Rock Chamber remains committed to proactively promoting the community to high-growth industries and building the partnerships that drive long-term economic prosperity. Participation in events like BIO reinforces the Chamber’s mission to attract quality employers, diversify the local economy and create opportunities for businesses.
