Round Rock Chamber Announces Agreement with Hubbell Lighting

Relocation and expansion to bring fifty high-paying jobs to Round Rock

The Round Rock Chamber announced today that Hubbell Lighting has signed a lease at Summit II at La Frontera to create the future home of its lighting controls Design Center of Excellence and training facility. Hubbell currently employs seventeen at its Austin location, which will be relocated to the new, larger facility in Round Rock. The brand anticipates growing from seventeen full-time employees in Round Rock to fifty.

“We’re building a progressive and dynamic lighting controls and intelligent network systems team here in the Austin-Round Rock area, one of the world’s leading technology hubs,” said Jason Sherrill, vice president of brand management for Hubbell Control Solutions. “Hubbell Control Solutions is the technology innovator within a four-billion-dollar electrical company that has the resources and passion to sprint ahead in this rapidly shifting industry.”

Hubbell’s new facility will house seven functional teams comprised of product owners, engineers, software and mobile app developers, UX designers, and other development associates. It will also feature a fully operational testing lab.

Summit II at La Frontera is a Class A office building owned and managed by Mark IV Capital. The two-story building features food truck services for tenants, an on-site gym and shower facility, anticipated LEED certification, and a 10,000 square foot private garden with collaboration and outdoor dining areas. Austin, Texas-based The Burt Group will serve as the general contractor and Sixth River has been retained for architectural services. CBRE served as the broker for the transaction.
