Round Rock and Williamson County Host International Delegation Ahead of SelectUSA Summit

In a strategic move to showcase Central Texas to international investors, the City of Round Rock, in collaboration with the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership (WilCo EDP), hosted an international business delegation ahead of the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. The visit served as an official spinoff event of the upcoming summit, setting the stage for deeper discussions on foreign direct investment in the U.S.

About SelectUSA
SelectUSA is the federal government’s flagship initiative to attract and facilitate foreign direct investment (FDI) into the United States. Operated by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the initiative culminates annually in the SelectUSA Investment Summit, a premier event that gathers thousands of international companies, U.S. economic development organizations, and policymakers to connect and explore business opportunities across the country. The 2025 Summit is being held in National Harbor, Maryland.

Texas Spinoff Event: A Pre-Summit Economic Showcase
Taking place May 8-9, just days before the national summit, the Central Texas spinoff tour gave international companies a curated, ground-level look at the economic potential of Williamson County.

The agenda featured:

  • Helicopter Tour of Williamson County: Delegates received an aerial overview of industrial parks, infrastructure corridors, and development-ready land, offering strategic insights into the region’s capacity for growth.
  • Workforce and Industry Briefings: Held at Texas State Technical College in Hutto, briefings focused on talent development and workforce readiness, with local employers and education leaders highlighting training pipelines in key industries like advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, and clean energy.
  • Panel Discussions with Local Leaders: Business owners, construction and permitting experts, and municipal officials shared first-hand insights into the business-friendly climate of Round Rock and the county at large.
  • Civic and Cultural Tours: Visits to the Texas Capitol gave delegates a taste of Texas culture and its policy environment.

A Platform for Long-Term Investment
This pre-Summit event allowed Wilco EDP to give potential investors a close-up view of what makes Williamson County a compelling location for international business. The delegation included companies from sectors such as automotive tech, clean energy, electronics, and biotech—all aligned with Central Texas’s growing industrial base.
