New Event for Entrepreneurs and Growth Start-Ups

By: Adriana Nunez-McDermott

Last week the Round Rock Chamber’s Entrepreneurship Council held their inaugural Business Leader Series, led by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. The Business Leader Series is an initiative by the chamber to support entrepreneurial innovation and business growth in the region and will feature industry experts sharing business lessons, insights, and tools that they have used in their own journey.

The first Business Leader Series event was centered around the tools it takes to Organize Your Company for Success Using Entrepreneurial Operating Systems (EOS) Principals. Damon Neth, an entrepreneur and certified implementor of EOS, took a deeper dive into how important people are to a company.  The event took place at Centro, an event space owned by local Round Rock entrepreneur and chamber board member Daniel Hernandez.

Three Takeaways from the Business Leader Series

  1. Right People – Having clearly defined roles and responsibilities within a company will help to get the right people in the right seats.
  2. Get it, Want it, and Capacity to do it (GWC)– Once everyone knows what they are accountable for they must GWC. Get it simply means that they truly understand their role. Want it means they like their job. Capacity means they have the mental, physical, and emotional time to do it.
  3. Weekly Meetings – It is important to schedule time to meet weekly in order to review tasks and to go over any major projects or accomplishments. This time can also be used to identify and resolve any issues.

The next event will take place on Tuesday, April 6 and will feature Christa Kleinhans Tuttle, Founder and CEO of Launch Marketing. This event will focus on best practices for blogging to help boost your business. For more information or to register for the next event visit our website.
