Join Us in Celebrating National Small Business Week: May 1-7

This week, the Round Rock Chamber is proud to celebrate National Small Business Week, which was established by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) more than fifty years ago to honor and recognize the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. This year’s theme, “Building a Better America through Entrepreneurship,” celebrates the resiliency and tenacity of America’s entrepreneurs who are doing their part to power our nation’s historic economic comeback.

Small businesses have contributed significantly to the U.S. economy by generating wealth and creating employment. In fact, small businesses have reported creating 1.5 million jobs nationwide every year. And in Texas, 99.8 percent of businesses are small, employing nearly half of all working Texans. This is why entrepreneurship and support for small and scaling businesses is a critical component to Round Rock’s economic development strategy.

The Round Rock Chamber will be celebrating National Small Business Week by hosting or supporting a number of events throughout the week to recognize including our regular lineup of entrepreneurship-focused events such as Business Leader Series and 1 Million Cups Round Rock, as well as our first-ever Round Rock Public Library Business Plan Competition.

In addition, the SBA is hosting a National Small Business Week Virtual Summit, a free event where experts will share tools and information that entrepreneurs need to further power our economic growth, strengthen our supply chains, and deliver the products and services Americans depend on every day. Topics will range from marketing to unlocking productivity to securing capital for a small business. Locally, the City of Austin Economic Development Small Business Division is also offering a similar virtual series with topics to include health insurance for small businesses, funding and a business coaching hour.

We encourage you all to celebrate National Small Business Week 2022 by participating in one of our many events geared to entrepreneurs, shopping local, supporting your favorite Round Rock business or sharing a story about a small business on your social media.
