Internship Program: Texas Working Off-Campus: Reinforcing Knowledge and Skills (TXWORKS)
As many employers know, internships provide companies the opportunity to explore talent, benefit from different and developing skill sets, and train candidates for full-time positions. For college and university students, internships offer opportunities to build their resumes, explore career paths, and provide professional work experiences to prepare them for their future careers. TXWORKS, supported by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, is a state funded internship program aimed to connect Texas students with employers dedicated to contributing to the development of a skilled and qualified workforce.
This program offers a reimbursement of a portion of wages paid to interns if the employer meets the requirements of the program, including an eligible business structure and providing an internship structure that meets the program requirements.
