Happy 40th Birthday Dell

Dell Technologies Celebrates 40 Years of Innovation

Dell Technologies reached a significant milestone today, May 3, by celebrating their 40th anniversary in business. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of their global headquarters in Round Rock, TX. What started as a vision to democratize computers has transformed into a global powerhouse of innovation, with a profound impact on the Round Rock community and beyond.

From roots in a dorm room to a $90 billion industry leader, Dell Technologies has played a pivotal role in shaping the technology landscape. As a cornerstone of Round Rock’s growing technology ecosystem, Dell has not only brought high-paying jobs but has also been a vital economic engine for Texas.

In 1994, Dell solidified its commitment to Round Rock by opening its global headquarters, catalyzing economic growth, and providing new opportunities for the region. Over the years, Dell’s presence has attracted talent and businesses from around the world, fostering an environment conducive for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Dell’s strong partnership with the City of Round Rock and ongoing support to the community through volunteerism and philanthropy, helps ensure Round Rock remains a vibrant and thriving place to live and work.

Dell Technologies’ impact extends far beyond business success. Through innovative solutions, the company empowers businesses, governments and individuals to navigate and thrive in an ever-evolving technological landscape. From enhancing efficiency to unlocking new revenue streams, Dell continues to drive human progress through the power of technology.

As Dell Technologies looks ahead to the next chapter of innovation, its commitment to Round Rock and the broader community remains unwavering. Round Rock’s City Council recently approved an amendment to the original 1993 Chapter 380 economic development agreement with Dell thus extending the original contract from 60 years to 106 years. The original agreement was the state’s first Chapter 380 agreement and held great significance in kickstarting Round Rock’s sustainable growth. Today, on May 3, Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan, alongside members of Round Rock City Council and representatives from Dell, convened at Dell Technologies’ headquarters in Round Rock to formally sign the agreement. The extension of the Dell agreement represents a continued commitment to collaboration and economic prosperity.

With a legacy built on collaboration, entrepreneurship and self-service, Dell’s influence will continue to shape the future of technology and society for years to come. Happy Birthday Dell Technologies!
