gBETA Round Rock Opens Applications for Third Cohort
ROUND ROCK, Texas — After a second cohort that helped participating startups land new funding, national recognition and rapid revenue growth, gBETA Round Rock is now accepting applications for its third cohort, which kicks off in October.
Powered by nationally ranked venture capital firm and accelerator network gener8tor, and supported by the Round Rock Chamber, gBETA Round Rock is a free, seven-week, no-equity accelerator seeking startups across industries in the greater Round Rock area.
“We continue to be amazed at the innovation and success coming out of our Round Rock startup scene,” said Jordan Robinson, president and CEO of the Round Rock Chamber. “Launching gBETA Round Rock last year and investing in our local entrepreneurs is proving to be the spark they needed to ignite. We can’t wait for the next cohort to continue the momentum created by our first two groups.”
The second gBETA Round Rock cohort included Revco Energy, RealCooL, Nutt Bio, Wanderlust Wine Co. and Towit. Since joining the program, these five companies have gone on to raise new capital, win national accolades and grow revenue at a rapid clip:
- Revco Energy: a modular clean-energy platform, received a $40,000 grant from the Round Rock Chamber and was accepted into the Cox Cleantech Residency program in Atlanta.
- RealCooL: a medtech company commercializing breast milk-warming research out of the University of Texas at Austin, has won several pitch competitions and raised more than $500,000 in SBIR and NSF grants.
- Nutt Bio: an agtech company developing a natural injectable compound for the livestock industry, has raised more than $600,000 in funding as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
- Wanderlust Wine Co.: a sustainable canned and kegged wine brand, has generated more than $9 million in lifetime sales.
- Towit: a peer-to-peer trailer rental marketplace, is on pace to grow revenue 57% year-over-year.
“Being able to showcase what were building directly to local city, Chamber and business leaders, that’s really the benefit of gBETA Round Rock,” said Kirtan Nahavarapu, founder of Revco Energy. “But even more so, working with Destin, as a successful founder who understands startups and how to grow a company, makes the program so much more helpful than most accelerators
