CEO Message: Good policies and good professionals are there when you need them
Anyone living in the Central Texas region knows this year spring has “come in like lion”, as the saying goes. For three weeks in a row (last week, this week, and following week) we have experienced severe weather with large hail.
The storm on April 15 dropped hail larger than golf balls on the Chamber and the vehicles of our team members. My condolences to the many friends and business owners that got hit too. Thankfully, no one on our team was injured, but some vehicles didn’t fare so well. As a result, there has been a lot of talk about insurance policies, damages, and deductibles. Insurance is one of those products like health care services – you hope you never really need it, but when you do you are grateful to have it.
Receiving damage to a car or other personal property is one of the most frustrating experiences a person can have. I’m grateful for the insurance sales and service professionals that help us consumers navigate the process.
The insurance industry is a large part of every economy, and it is well represented in the ranks of Chamber investors. In my experience, these professionals are not simply working to sell a product – but help consumers know and understand options to maximize their protection. They are also some of the most community-minded men and women I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Insurance is one of the most active industries to sponsor kids sport events, non-profit fundraising efforts, and capital campaigns.
To the insurance professionals in the Round Rock area, thank you for what you do. I know last week was a busy one and it looks like the severe weather is likely to make future weeks busy too. Thank you for investing in your community and the institutions that make it strong. You are appreciated!
