CEO Message from Jason Ball

Dear Chamber Investors and Community Leaders –

Happy new year! We’ve hit the ground running at the Chamber to kick off the new decade right. With several initiatives underway, I’m particularly excited about our partnership with the City of Round Rock. We are working with them on several important policy and program opportunities that I believe will serve our investors and the entire city for years to come.

For this first note of the year, I’d like to offer our congratulations to Anchor-Vantana Glass for launching a new apprenticeship program right here in Round Rock! The program is a three-year training and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) certification for Glazers (glass cutting and installation). It is the first of its kind for this industry in Texas! You can read more about it on their website here.

Several community and government leaders gathered to celebrate this important step forward with Anchor-Vantana employees and leadership last week. The announcement provides another example of the private sector leading development of solutions that creatively solve workforce needs and provide opportunity for individuals and families. You can read the Community Impact Newspaper article here.

Above is a photograph from the event, featuring all those who attended. This included more than a dozen local and state-wide organizations involved in supporting the program. I find that often we can make progress on large challenges by getting the right leaders and people together. As you can see in the picture, this effort took the hard work of many, and I have every confidence it will yield results for Anchor-Vantana and their growing team. Join me in congratulating Felix Munson the whole Anchor-Vantana team!

I wish you success in the new decade. Working together we can all achieve more.

Best regards,

Jason
