Celebrating the Backbone of Round Rock: National Small Business Week 2025 A Message from our Round Rock Chamber President & CEO

Each year since 1963, the United States Small Business Administration has set aside a week to recognize the essential contributions of small businesses to our economy and communities. This year, National Small Business Week takes place May 4–10, 2025, and it’s a timely reminder of the incredible impact local entrepreneurs have on Round Rock and beyond.

Small businesses represent more than just storefronts — they are job creators, innovators, and community builders. In Round Rock, they help define the character of our city and play a critical role in everything from workforce development to downtown revitalization. Whether it’s a neighborhood bakery, a family-owned auto shop, or a growing tech startup, small businesses create opportunities, support local families, and give back in countless ways.

Nationally, small businesses are a driving force in the economy. They account for 99.9% of all U.S. businesses and employ nearly half of the American workforce. Over the past decade, small businesses have been responsible for 55% of total net job creation. In Texas, small businesses have added thousands of jobs, underscoring their pivotal role in economic growth.

At the Round Rock Chamber, we are proud to advocate for and support the success of our small business community year-round. During National Small Business Week, I encourage everyone to go out of their way to support the small businesses that make Round Rock a special place to live, work, and thrive. Shop local, share a recommendation, write a review, or simply say thank you.

Let’s continue to build a community that champions and celebrates the spirit of entrepreneurship — this week and every week.
