Round Rock Chamber Presents Business Ownership Insights to ACCE

The Round Rock Chamber was honored to present to the American Council of Chamber Executives (ACCE) regarding our ongoing work through the Small Business Opportunity Council.

The presentation focused on the Business Ownership Insights survey, a collaborative effort conducted with graduate students from Texas State University. The survey provided valuable data on the demographics of the Round Rock business community and allowed us to better understand how the Chamber’s membership reflects – and can better align with – our broader business landscape.

Representing the Chamber were Richard Lopez, Chair of the Small Business Opportunity Council, and Kimberly Dolson, the Chamber’s staff liaison to the Committee. Together, they shared the methodology, key findings, actionable steps the Chamber has taken to incorporate the results of those findings, and how the Chamber is moving forward.

“There was a lot of interest in how our Council is designing transformative programs and providing resources to empower the small diverse-owned businesses in our community, ” said Lopez. “It was great to have a forum to share best practices with other Chamber executives for driving membership and economic growth.”

We’re proud to have contributed to this important conversation with chambers from across the country and remain committed to building a community where all businesses can thrive.

The Small Business Opportunity Council (formerly the DEI Committee) is committed to cultivating a welcoming and opportunity-rich environment that reinforces Round Rock’s reputation as an exceptional place to live, work, and grow a business. The mission of the Small Business Opportunity Council is to identify resources and implement strategies that expand access to economic advancement across the Round Rock business community and workforce. The Chamber is devoted to supporting a wide range of voices, experiences, and backgrounds that contribute to the vitality and continued success of our growing community.
