Ambassador Spotlight: Virgil Rucker

Virgil Rucker is a native “Austinite”, however he and his family moved to Round Rock in 2005.  Virgil spent most of his career working for major tech companies, such as Apple, VMware, and Informatica.  As the COVID-19 Pandemic was ending, Virgil was approached with an opportunity to work with a local service provider helping small and medium sized businesses with IT services. Capitalizing on the chance to make a positive impact on the local business community, Virgil joined The Purple Guys in 2022.   He immediately joined the Round Rock Chamber and actively participated in the networking and social events to build brand awareness of The Purple Guys (he’s the guy in purple 😊).

As Virgil attended various Chamber events, such as Ribbon Cuttings and 1 Million Cups he recognized the amazing things the Round Rock Chamber was doing to promote the local business community.  With a desire to “give back” and become more involved, Virgil joined the Ambassador Program.  As an Ambassador, Virgil is part of a wonderful team of business leaders, non-profits, and community activists promoting the Round Rock business community on behalf of the Chamber.

With The Purple Guys Virgil is helping local businesses with IT services and identifying cyber-security threats; and with The Chamber Virgil is helping support, promote, and celebrate local businesses in the Round Rock community.  And of course, what makes the community great is the people!
