Ambassador Spotlight: Karah Powell
The Round Rock Chamber Ambassadors serve as the welcoming committee and are charged by the board of directors to offer the hand of friendship to new Chamber investors. This is a perfect opportunity to meet new community businesses and help introduce them to our community of friends and connections.
Karah Powell has lived and thrived in Round Rock since 1996 when she moved her family here all the way from North Austin. She is an extremely active member of the First United Methodist Church where she raised her three daughters, all who graduated from RRHS. Her children and grandchildren all live here, work for amazing companies, and continue to make lasting connections to help improve our city.
As an advocate for the Round Rock Chamber and business community, Karah is constantly connecting businesses to not only customers but also to charitable organizations they have a passion to help grow. Relationship building is her motto and her drive to help other develop and make meaningful and purposeful connections.
Since 2017, Karah has been fortunate to work for ROCK-Ride On Center for Kids in east Georgetown off the Innerloop and is their Development Director. Karah’s primary job duties revolve around donor management and stewardship. ROCK is currently in the middle of a capital campaign, Miracles in the Dirt, to add a second arena on their 60 acres. Karah is passionate about making sure each donor sees how their investment makes a difference in the lives of the participants ROCK serves. Their mission is to improve independence and life skills in partnership with the horse. You are each invited to come on a tour and learn more about how you can love on a horse, volunteer in the dirt, and make an impact that lasts more than a lifetime. If you have never been to the ROCK Barn Dance you need to put that on your bucket list for sure!
Karah finds many ways to give back to her community. From her church to block walking for her favorite political candidates, to serving on the board of Drops of Grace, a humanitarian relief organization she helped found in 2008, to volunteering to help other nonprofits learn and lead in their field. She believes that every person has a passion, and every passion has a cause. Her real goal in life is to help you find your passion so you can find a charitable organization to connect and help.
Feel free to reach out to Karah to learn more about ROCK, the Chamber, or any nonprofit you want to help or get connected to. Few people have walked away the same after meeting her.
