Ambassador Spotlight: Jay Weber

Jay Weber enjoys promoting Round Rock and, for 11 years, has enthusiastically served as an Ambassador for the Round Rock Chamber to help other organizations celebrate and grow.
Jay and his wife, Lora, owned MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream & Treatery in Round Rock for 14 years, and the Chamber named it the 2012 small business of the year. They started their MaggieMoo’s business in 2005 after years of traveling for fun all over Texas to sell homemade ice cream at outdoor living history events—something they still enjoy doing today.
Jay’s earlier career was in corporate finance for such companies as Texas Instruments, BAE Automated Systems, and American Eurocopter in the Dallas area before he retired and moved to the Round Rock area.
Jay holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Texas. He played drums professionally to put himself through school, obtaining both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in four years.
During college, Jay also became one of the earliest PADI scuba diving instructors in a fledgling industry. While at Texas Instruments, he volunteered as an instructor for the company’s Texins Dive Club, and continues to teach for the club today. In his 50+ years as an instructor, Jay has issued thousands of scuba diving certifications for beginner through assistant instructor levels.
Today, Jay still enjoys scuba diving all over the world, playing drums, restoring classic Jaguars – and ice cream!
