Ambassador Spotlight: Daniel Castoreno

The Round Rock Chamber Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic, and articulate business people to represent the chamber at functions and events across the community. This group plays a critical role in gathering investor feedback and relaying that information to chamber staff. Ambassadors help support the chamber’s mission by ensuring that new investors are welcomed to the chamber family properly and they play an important role in ribbon cutting events. This month’s Ambassador spotlight is Daniel Castoreno.

Daniel was born in Houston and raised in Austin on a bet within his family on the color of the Austin state capitol building. Turns out, the building is in fact pink so Daniel and his family relocated to Austin. Daniel grew up in North Austin and finished school in the small town of Pflugerville. While studying basics at ACC, he fell into the hospitality world as a full-time night auditor for an IHG hotel. Within his first year, he was promoted to Sales Manager as his employer saw an inner sales associate in him before he did.

After four years of much success, Daniel moved on to a larger company where he was a Sales Manager for a Hilton property and became a part of the Round Rock Chamber Ambassador team. After three years and a promotion to Director of Sales, he left Round Rock to lead a task force for his company in Kentucky but ended up relocating to San Antonio to open up a dual Hilton property on the San Antonio River Walk. While he grew up a long time San Antonio Spurs fan, his heart remained in Round Rock where he is now the Dual Director of Sales for the Aloft and Element Austin Round Rock by Marriott. He enjoys paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake and biking through Brushy Creek on his days off. Daniel’s favorite quote is “Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one that is going to help you grow” – Caroline Myss.
