2024 Basic Economic Development Course Completion
Round Rock Chamber’s Economic Development Coordinator Completes 2024 Basic Economic Development Course- Fort Worth
Kathryn Alvarado, Economic Development Coordinator, achieved a significant milestone in her professional journey by completing the Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC). Kathryn traveled to Fort Worth during the second week of June to participate in the intensive training program, organized by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC). The BEDC is designed to equip participants with fundamental skills and knowledge in economic development. This course serves as a foundation for professionals aiming to drive economic growth and community development and is the first step toward professional certification. The course provides students with valuable insights into best practices, strategic planning and the latest trends in economic development.
The TEDC’s basic course is recognized for its comprehensive curriculum, which covers essential topics such as business retention and expansion, workforce development, business attraction, marketing and business finance. The 2024 BEDC Fort Worth class was comprised of 70 individuals from all over Texas and even included peers from California and Oklahoma. Students had the chance to learn from some of the best economic development professionals in the business, form invaluable connections and enrich their understanding and approach to economic development.
