ThermaSol® is the recipient of one of the highest honors in Texas as the company and its CEO received the YTexas RELO award on Oct. 2 at the Omni Hotel in Dallas.
The award recognizes companies that have not only relocated to the state in the last five years, but those companies that strive to improve the area with meaningful economic development.
When ThermaSol relocated its headquarters from California to Texas in late 2014, it was part of a multi-tiered development plan, which included not only the company’s headquarters, but a business development park as well.
Working with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Partnership, ThermaSol CEO Mitchell Altman conceived a plan to develop 27 acres in Round Rock, Texas. The development consists of six buildings ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 square feet, a five-story office tower and walking park with trails throughout a wetland ecosystem. The road surfaces and parking structures are longevity-based concrete and highlighted by three stunning water features.
“Moving my company and my employees, who are like family to me, from California to Texas was not without its challenges,” said Mitch Altman, CEO of ThermaSol. “Our company and headquarters are more than just brick and steel and by developing this business park, my hope was that we could provide a long-standing environment that would make everyone proud, and with the help of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Partnership I think we’ve achieved just that – I’m very proud to be the recipient of this award on behalf of ThermaSol.”
ThermaSol and The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Partnership were previously honored with the 2014 Community Economic Development Award for the ThermaSol headquarters relocation and business park development project. CEDA, which is awarded by the Texas Economic Development Council, recognizes “excellence and exceptional contributions of Texas communities in economic development.”
