Round Rock tops the list for having not only the lowest unemployment rates, housing costs and utility bills, but also having a higher household income than most of the United States. When compared to the national average unemployment rate of 7%, Round Rock’s unemployment rate is only at 4.7%. Compared to the national median household income of $53,056, Round Rock has a median household income of 69,998, while having an average house listing price that is $15,280 less than the state average and $337,361 less than the average listing in Austin, Texas. Coupling that with a significantly lower crime rate than every other city on the list, Round Rock receives the top spot.
