Round Rock Chamber Receives Top Honor for Communications

Skilled Trades Image Campaign earns ACCE’s Grand Award

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Chamber announced today that it has been named one of thirteen Communications Excellence Grand Award winners by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), an Alexandria, VA-based association that represents more than 8,000 chamber of commerce professionals and 1,300 chambers of commerce around the world. The chamber now qualifies to compete for the Best in Show award, which will be announced July 18 at the ACCE Annual Convention in Des Moines, Iowa.

The chamber was named a Grand Award winner for an entry in the digital marketing communications category for its skilled trades image campaign. The image campaign focuses on educating young people about career options in the skilled trades, which are jobs that require some certification beyond high school, but do not require a four-year college degree. The digital marketing campaign is centered on defining what skilled professions are and ultimately overcoming the stigma that is associated with many of these viable careers. The chamber was also awarded an Award of Excellence in digital marketing for its PRO Round Rock microsites which is another initiative within its talent development pillar.

“We are honored to receive this national recognition from ACCE,” said Scotti Woolery-Price, the chamber’s vice president of marketing and operations. “The results of the image campaign have been positive and effective in our community. We are dedicated to keeping workforce development a top priority within our economic-generation efforts and will continue to communicate the importance of filling the skilled professions pipeline.”

ACCE’s Awards for Communications Excellence program, sponsored by Golden Openings, Inc., is designed to showcase top communications and marketing work of chambers of commerce and similar organizations across the United States and Canada. Several thousand award entries have been submitted since the launch of the organization’s Awards for Communications Excellence, which is now in its thirty-fourth year.

A panel of communications and marketing professionals from five U.S.- based chambers of commerce evaluated entries, which were organized by category and entry type: advertising and marketing, campaigns, digital, and publications. Judges awarded thirteen Grand Awards out of more than 150 submitted entries in 2018. Winners of the Grand Award go on to compete for the Best in Show, which recognizes the best piece across all categories.

The chamber would like to thank the following entities who were instrumental in the development of the Skilled Trades Image Campaign including Allied Electric Services, Inc.; Chasco Constructors, LLC; City of Round Rock; Jevin Studios, LLC; Precision Commercial Plumbing; Round Rock Independent School District; and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
