Round Rock Chamber Opens Applications for Year Two of Entrepreneurship Round Rock Program

One-month course conducted in partnership with SCORE Austin

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Chamber today announced that it has opened applications for the Entrepreneurship Round Rock (ERR) program. The program, which is in its second year, aims to strengthen and expand the community’s current entrepreneurial ecosystem. This year’s program will be conducted in partnership with SCORE Austin.

The mission of ERR is to provide individuals, who are just beginning or considering an entrepreneurial enterprise, a supportive and nurturing environment where they can thoroughly evaluate their respective business models. The four-session course, each lasting two-and-a-half hours, will include small group discussions that are focused on strengthening the participants’ business models. The curriculum is based on the Business Model Canvas and the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac Program.

“SCORE Austin has certified mentors that are experienced entrepreneurs, corporate managers, and executives with a diverse set of industries and specialties who volunteer their experience and knowledge to help entrepreneurs achieve success,” said Robert Paino, SCORE Austin’s chapter chair.

The classes will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 4, 11, 18, and 25. The program, offered at $150 per person to local and nonlocal residents, is limited to ten people. The chamber is now accepting applications for the ERR class of 2018. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 13. For more information on the program and to access the application, please click here.

“The goal of ERR is to support budding entrepreneurs so that they can successfully launch their enterprises in Round Rock,” said Amy Mizcles, the chamber’s vice president of community enhancement. “We had our first cohort in 2017, and we are looking forward to the second class of aspiring entrepreneurs in the early stages of their journey regardless of their industry or business idea.”

One of the major components of the chamber’s REV UP Round Rock strategy is the creation of the ERR program. To read REV UP Round Rock in its entirety, please click here.
