City council removes “interim” tag from title
The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Partnership today congratulated Laurie Hadley as the City of Round Rock named her the new city manager. Her appointment was made official during the January 8, 2015 city council meeting. Hadley had been serving as the interim manager since the beginning of October 2014.
“The city council has made a great decision by appointing Laurie as our permanent city manager,” said Mike Odom, the chamber’s president and CEO. “Not only is she an outstanding individual and administrator, but her selection adds continuity and stability to what has been an exceptionally developed team and operation. We couldn’t be happier.“
In both her previous assistant city manager and interim city manager roles, Hadley has been deeply involved in many of the chamber’s economic development efforts including participating in prospect site visits, out-of-state recruiting trips, and company negotiations.
This partnership between the city and chamber is a major reason for the $1.3 billion impact that the chamber’s economic development work produced in 2014 stemming from thirty-four successful economic development projects (read the full economic impact analysis here).
