Odyssey Technical Solutions Expands in Round Rock

Company to increase square footage and employees by 25% and 15%, respectively

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Odyssey Technical Solutions, LLC, a leading repairer of RF (radio frequency), MW (microwave), and DC (direct current) equipment primarily used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, will be expanding in Round Rock with a new 25,000+ SF facility and additional employees.

“I am extremely pleased to announce our commitment to building our headquarters and technology center here in Round Rock.  It was a pleasure to work with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Partnership to identify our ongoing role in the business growth of the city.  We truly appreciate the welcoming business environment and investment made by the City of Round Rock to make this happen.  We are eager to move through the next steps of this project and look forward to moving into Odyssey’s new company home,” Jim Plourde, president of Odyssey Technical Solutions said.

Currently located in the Round Rock extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ), Odyssey will be purchasing land within the Round Rock city limits next to Chasco Constructors on Old Settlers Boulevard, and investing $4.25 million in facility improvements and personal property.  In addition, they will move all 48 of their current employees to the new location and add an additional seven before the end of 2015.

Chasco President Chuck Glace said, “We are excited to be working with Odyssey for their new location in our business park.  They are a valuable asset to our community and we are confident they will love their new location.  Their success is truly a win for us all.”

“Odyssey Technical Solutions is a unique and valuable company that we have always considered to be part of our Round Rock business community, but we are excited for them to expand into the city limits when they could have chosen to go elsewhere.  This project is just another example of the quality growth we are seeing in Round Rock and the value of the partnership between the city, chamber, and our businesses,” Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw said.

Odyssey Technical Solutions was opened in 2000 by Air Force veteran Jim Plourde and Eric Nail.  They have completed well over 25,000 repairs in their 14 years in businesses, and have grown from their initial 1,500 SF building.

“We have been working with Odyssey Technical for several years and are very happy that they have decided to expand in Round Rock,” Ben White, the chamber’s vice president of economic development said.  “This is a prime example of our business expansion efforts directly producing an increase in jobs for our community.”
