Publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will move its Austin offices to Round Rock as soon as the new La Frontera Plaza office building is completed in July 2016.

HMH (Nasdaq: HMHC) has leased 85,000 square feet of the 100,000-square-foot office building under construction at 2700 La Frontera Blvd., near I-35 and State Highway 45 on the border of Austin and Round Rock.

Several executives with Live Oak-Gottesman, the Austin-based real estate and development company, are partners on the project, including Rob Shands, Matt Whelan, Steve Younkman and Brent Ramirez.

Live Oak-Gottesman brokers Doug Thomas and Jon Moscoe are handling leasing on the remaining 10,500 square feet.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt currently has regional offices at 10801 N. MoPac Expressway. The company did not respond to a request for information on its current employee count and square footage.

About 270 employees with an average salary of $70,000 per year will work from the new Round Rock facility, according to the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.

Additional members of the La Frontera Plaza development team include Studio 8 Architects, Waeltz & Prete Inc. civil engineers and general contractor Structura Inc.

Texas Capital Bank provided financing.

HMH is based in Boston and is a leading provider of educational materials with global revenues approaching $1.4 billion. It has 26 offices around the world.
