Ascend is a revolutionary program bridging the gap between today’s young professional and tomorrow’s leaders. Ascend provides opportunities for advanced networking with some of our most distinguished community leaders and seeks to make a positive difference in our society.
The mission of Ascend is to support, cultivate, and attract emerging leaders by providing access to business resources, educational opportunities, and community partnerships in an effort to enhance the Round Rock area. The program will concentrate on four main segments: Connect, Grow, Interact, and Voice.
Ascend Criteria and Format
Eligibility and Selection
Ascend is a select group of committed individuals who are actively engaged in the issues facing the City of Round Rock. Ascend applicants must be:
- under forty-years-old;
- a graduate of the Leadership Round Rock program;
- an investor in the Round Rock Chamber.
Ascend is a three year hands-on community leadership program that runs the calendar year. Attendance and active participation are required for nine sessions that are held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. once per month from February through December. The time may vary depending upon the scope of the program but is generally limited to fewer than three hours per month. The first meeting is a mandatory, all-day retreat held in January.
Ascend also offers a roundtable program that provides an informal meeting with distinguished community leaders. These roundtables are held on various days throughout the program, though typically they are during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The fee for involvement in Ascend is $350 per year, which covers miscellaneous printed materials and lunches for the program meetings. The fee must be paid by the first class session unless prior arrangements have been made and approved. There will be no refunds after the class begins.
Optional Mentoring Component
Members will have the option for monthly coffees or lunches (not covered through the program fee) with key leaders from our community set up by Ascend. This is a time to have a small audience with distinguished community individuals for informal discussion and Q&A.
