Depending on the type of business, a facility inspection may be required by the city or county.

Fire Marshal

The Round Rock Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for fire plan reviews, new construction inspections, and existing occupancy inspections. Forms for code enforcement, fire site/plan review, and new and existing occupancy inspection can be found on their website. To schedule an inspection, call the scheduling line at 512.218.6628.

Williamson County and Cities Health District

The Williamson County and Cities Health District must be contacted if you are selling food, beverages, and/or operating a daycare center. The district also oversees business sanitation services.

Alcohol Permits

Any establishment serving alcohol must contact the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) to obtain a pre-qualification packet. The packet must be approved by the Round Rock City Clerk as well as by the Williamson County Clerk or Travis County Clerk (dependent on the business location).

TABC permits are valid for two years, while the city permits are valid for one year at a time.

Be sure to bring your original and a copy of the TABC pre-qualification packet as you will be asked to leave a copy with the county clerk’s office. There is a fee of $16.
