Director of Workforce and Industry Development

Zach Scott is the Round Rock Chamber’s newest Director of Workforce and Industry Development. Before joining the Chamber, he served as a Senior Associate in Grant Thornton LLP’s Credits & Incentive Services where he assisted companies in evaluating local, state, and federal credit and incentive opportunities with an emphasis on the following services: tax credit reviews, negotiated incentive services, and incentive compliance.

Prior to his role at Grant Thornton, Zach worked for the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) as the Manager, Regional Economic Development, with a focus on business recruitment, retention, and expansion, particularly within the technology and innovation industries. In this role, Zach assisted in the following services: preparing marketing and community information, reporting on regional economic trends, workforce development, drafting custom proposals, identifying sites for business expansion opportunities, scheduling site visits, VIP introductions, incentives overviews and other assistance necessary to recruit and retain companies to the Greater Houston region.

Zach also spent four years in the Office of the Governor, State of Texas (OOG) as an Economic Development Specialist within the Economic Development and Tourism Division. While at the OOG, Zach worked with business prospects and communities in identifying potential state incentive and financing programs to promote job creation and retention, capital investment and small business product development in Texas.

A Texas-native, Zach graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Business Administration.
