It has been a full week at the Chamber and the team has been working hard on your behalf to grow the economy and the community.
We began the week by working with seven of the Chambers in Williamson County to share an important message about the upcoming bond election. Together we shared one unified message – passing the $447 million proposed bond package for infrastructure and parks is an important investment to make for all of our communities. Our population is projected to increase at one of the fastest rates in the country, and that growth will fuel our workforce needs. You can read more in this Community Impact article and more about the Round Rock Chamber’s position here.
Most importantly, please get informed and vote! Early voting has already started and election day is November 5th. Early voting options and polling locations can be found on the Williamson County website.
We also celebrated Round Rock business at the 2019 Business Forum and Expo at the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond. The Round Rock Express and Evins Personnel Consultants – along with thirty booth sponsors made the expo our largest and most successful to date.
The program featured an interview with Allan Reagan, founder and CEO of Flix Brewhouse. It really is an inspiring entrepreneurship story that he has to tell, including: moving to Round Rock twenty-five years ago, taking over an empty building, and innovating a new way to deliver an entertainment experience. His passion and drive were evident in all of his comments. He has been an innovator in workforce as well, and talked about how he’s created training and advancement opportunities for his team of over 1,300, and how they measure the success of the guest experience. Allan is a business leader with great vision.
My favorite moment was when he was asked what he felt was next for the City of Round Rock. He sees several future development opportunities in Round Rock that will come over the next two decades. Allen ended by saying that, “Round Rock’s best days are ahead”. It was a great message to end the program with and an even better one for our team to carry forward this week.
