Policy Advocacy

The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in Round Rock, Texas, which ranks as one of America’s fastest-growing cities. Business advocacy is an important part of the Chamber’s mission and vision because public policy has a profound impact upon a community’s ability to grow and prosper. This includes government policies at the nation, state, regional, county, and municipal levels.

The Chamber in 2011 adopted an Agenda for Economic Vitality to outline the public policy priorities that the Chamber supports to ensure that Texas, in general, and Round Rock, in particular, are optimally positioned for continued growth, business success, economic opportunity, and a high quality of life.

By speaking for the broad business community at large, as well as other institutions that recognize the importance of economic vitality, the Chamber can provide very valuable input to policymakers about the potential impact of policies they are considering.

It is important for Chamber investors to be involved in this process. One way is to attend our Public Policy Briefings, which are usually held on a monthly basis. There, investors can learn more, and exchange views with policymakers, topic experts, and others in the community. Another way is to share views with elected officials at town hall meetings, and by phone, email, and letter. When the business community is engaged and united, there are few limits on what it can achieve.
