Bridging the Gap Between Veterans and Businesses
The 2017 Launch Workforce Conference is geared toward building an employment connection between veterans and businesses in Central Texas. The conference will empower veterans as they transition from the military to a civilian life and workforce as well as connect them with area businesses. Local businesses will get the information and tools needed to seek and hire veterans.
Make plans to join us on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Williamson Conference Center at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel. A career and hiring event will take place immediately after the conference from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Admission is $25.00 per person. The event is free for veterans seeking employment.

This session will provide veteran job seekers practical tips for successfully launching their second career. The presenters will help attendees understand the realities of entering the civilian job market, with timely regional job market information.
10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. | Business Session – Bridging the Gap
This session will provide the business community insight into veteran identified barriers to civilian workforce. Attendees will also learn about grants and tax incentives available to companies that hire and retain veterans. The corporate perspective on developing and maintaining successful company-wide veteran initiatives will also be featured.
